Based in the Bay Area, Natalya Janay Shoaf is an active choreographer, performer, educator, and costume designer. Natalya received her formidable dance training at Burbank Dance Biz, Patsy Metzger Dancers, Media City Ballet, Los Angeles Country School for the Arts, and holds a BFA in Dance from the Alonzo King LINES BFA program at Dominican University.

As a dancer, Natalya has performed with Robert Moses Kin, OYSTERKNIFE, Flyaway Productions, dawsondance | SF, and dazaun.dance. She is a current company member in the foundry directed by Alex Kelley.

Natalya’s choreography has been presented in Alonzo King LINES Summer Program and BFA, Black Choreographers Festival, Oakland Ballet Company, CHOPshop dance (Seattle), and many more local dance festivals.

As an educator she has been invited as guest lecturer at Cal Berkeley, Cal State University East Bay, and Dominican University, and The Athenian School. She is currently a part of the dance faculty at Oakland School for the Arts.

Natalya’s original costume design has been commissioned by Axis Dance Company, dazaun.dance, and Oakland School for the Arts.
